How to Create, Edit, and Delete Units

Units are the spaces on your property with which your tenants will be associated. They are tied to specific access points, which automatically grant new tenants access to the proper spaces based on their Unit. 


Creating a Unit

To create a Unit:

  1. Log into the GateHawk Property Portal

  2. Click on the desired Property (if applicable)

  3. Click the Units tab at the top of the page

  4. Click the Add Unit button in the top right corner of the page 

  5. Type the name of the Unit in the Unit Name text field

  6. Use the Unit Group dropdown to add the new Unit to an existing Unit Group

  7. Click Add Unit


Editing a Unit

To edit a Unit:

  1. Log into the GateHawk Property Portal

  2. Click on the desired Property (if applicable)

  3. Click the Units tab at the top of the page

  4. Click the︙(More Options) next to the Unit you wish to edit

  5. Click Edit Unit

  6. Make any necessary changes to the Unit

  7. Click Save



Deleting a Unit

Before deleting a Unit, you must first remove the tenants in that Unit. Please refer to our How to Manage Tenants article for detailed instructions on removing tenants. 


To delete a Unit:

  1. Log into the GateHawk Property Portal

  2. Click on the desired Property (if applicable)

  3. Click the Units tab at the top of the page

  4. Click the︙(More Options) next to the Unit you wish to remove

  5. Click Delete Unit

  6. Click Accept in the confirmation window
